My 5 Favourite Nightclubs in Havana, Cuba
The nightlife in Havana is diverse and exciting. With a vibrant dance and music culture, Cuba is a great place for clubbing.
There are plenty of places to choose from and below a look at some of my favourites.
1. Casa de la Musica
(Calle Galiano)
This is a great place to enjoy the nightlife in true Cuban fashion.
The music is generally provided by live salsa bands but there are sometimes DJs who entertain the crowds who gather on the dance floor in front of the stage.
There is also plenty of seating for those who cannot live with the pace of the music, and the relaxed dress code means that you can arrive here without prior planning.
The location in the centre of Havana is convenient and means that you can easily find your way back to your accommodation.
2. Café Cantante Mi Habana
(Paseo y 39)
This establishment is located in the basement of the national theatre and offers both day and nighttime entertainment.
This is another of the best venues in the city to enjoy salsa with high-quality bands playing here on a regular basis.
On other nights there is also a selection of r&B and pop music.
3. El Chévere
(Margenes del Río Calle)
This is a large disco style establishment which attracts young people who like to dress smartly and dance the night away.
There are two dancefloors to choose from, both of which are outside.
The main dance floor is large allows you to enjoy great music in real alfresco style, whilst the second is around a swimming pool.
If you are not familiar with the area you may find it a bit difficult to find this place so it is recommended that you do your homework before setting off.
4. Club Salseando Chevere
(Calle 49 y Av 28)
One of the best nightclubs in Havana, Club Salseando have their own dance team and also offer dance lessons, in addition to providing a great environment for having a few drinks, chilling out, dancing and socialising.
The place has great music, are very friendly and create a great and very welcoming atmosphere for tourist and locals alike, and it is just a great club and place to visit!
This is my favourite club!
5. Discoteca Escaleras al Cielo
( Zulueta 658 entre Gloria y Apodaca)
Considered by many visitors to be one of the best if not the best club in Havana (I just love Club Salseando more because of its ambience).
This club certainly justifies its popularity, this club is a disco tech in the truest sense and rather than being a place for shows and live entertainment.
It’s a great place to just get down to boogie!
