Cayo Santa Maria, Cayo Ensanachos and Cayo Las Brujas are part of the Cayos de la Herradura, which is a group of islands. Of all the islands in the Key, Cayo Santa Maria is easily the largest, with a 10 kilometre stretch of beach.
Cayo Santa Maria Beach is located off the coast of Villa Clara, slightly to the north of the province, whilst Villa Clara and Cayo Santa Maria are separated from each other by the Buena Vista Bay. The distance between the mainland and this beautiful beach is around 30 kilometres.
Surrounding Cayo Santa Maria, are hundreds of small islands with secluded beaches that are ideal day trip destinations for visitors looking to enjoy a private picnic or romantic getaway.
